OPPO has left the tech world in awe with its latest reveal at the Global Mobile Conference – the OPPO Airglass 3. This prototype is not just any smart glasses, but the most advanced wearable tech that has ever been seen.
The Airglass 3 is designed to integrate generative AI into everyday gadgets, allowing users to interact with OPPO’s AI assistant.
The glasses are compatible with OPPO phones running ColorOS 13 and later, making it an exclusive offering from the Chinese tech giant.
What sets the Airglass 3 apart is its voice assistant based on OPPO’s AndesGPT large language model. Users can ask questions and perform searches with ease, although the glasses need to be connected to a smartphone app for processing power.
The AI helper is currently only available in China, but we can expect it to expand to other regions soon.
OPPO is one of several companies that believe smart glasses are the future of AI-powered helpers. With mixed reality in the spotlight thanks to Apple’s Vision Pro headset, the Airglass 3 looks like a standard pair of spectacles but packs a punch with its impressive features.
The Airglass 3 boasts a new resin waveguide that reduces the “rainbow effect” caused by light refraction, resulting in improved color and clarity.
It can also reach over 1,000 nits at peak brightness, almost as bright as some smartphone displays. Weighing in at 50 grams, it’s similar to a standard pair of glasses, although slightly heavier.
But that’s not all – OPPO has also paid attention to audio quality, using reverse sound field technology to prevent sound leakage during calls.
Four microphones embedded in the glasses capture the user’s voice more clearly, making phone calls a breeze. Touch sensors along the side of the glasses allow for easy navigation, while new features such as health information and language translation will be added in the future.
The OPPO Airglass 3 is the most advanced wearable tech prototype that has ever been seen, and it’s clear that OPPO is betting big on two major technologies gaining buzz in the tech world: generative AI and smart glasses.
With this prototype, OPPO aims to prove that high-tech glasses are useful enough to earn their place on your face.
Stay tuned for updates on pricing and release dates, as the Airglass 3 is set to revolutionize the way we interact with technology.
