After much anticipation, OPPO has officially launched the successor to the OPPO Reno 8T series in the Kenyan market. The new line, known as the OPPO Reno 10 series, was unveiled in a spectacular event held in Nairobi on Tuesday night. This series introduces two exceptional devices: the OPPO Reno 10 5G and the OPPO Reno 10 5G Pro.
For a glimpse of the exciting launch event, check out the video I captured below:

As you can see in the video above, I shot it using the incredible OPPO Reno 10 5G, a smartphone equipped with a remarkable camera setup. This device boasts a 64MP ultra-clear main camera, a 32MP telephoto camera, and an 8MP wide-angle camera.
Even in the dimly lit indoor setting of the launch venue, I was able to effortlessly capture high-quality videos with crystal-clear sound, all without the need for any additional accessories.
I’ve had the privilege of using a review edition of the OPPO Reno 10 5G for about a week now, and I must say, I’m absolutely enamoured with its many features.
The design of my silvery grey variant is both compact and ergonomic, making it comfortable to hold whether you’re engaged in a phone call, indulging in extended video viewing sessions, or immersed in gaming adventures.
In addition to the impressive camera capabilities I mentioned earlier, this device also boasts a 32MP selfie camera positioned elegantly at the top-centre of its 6.7-inch 3D curved AMOLED display.
Much like its predecessors in the Reno series, the Reno 10 5G offers a night mode that delivers clearer images even in low-light conditions. This is made possible by the RGBW sensors, which enable the camera to capture up to 60% more light compared to other devices on the market.
Aptly referred to as ‘the Portrait Expert,’ this device excels in portrait photography, producing stunning photos in portrait mode. Furthermore, it offers additional PRO mode features that grant you greater control over the camera settings.
The Reno 10 5G doesn’t stop there. It includes a range of other exciting photography features, such as Extra HD, Slow Motion, Time Lapse mode, and Dual-View video mode. This last feature allows you to simultaneously record videos from both the front and rear cameras, a functionality that content creators will undoubtedly appreciate.
Here now is an unboxing video you will love to watch:
What do you get out of the box?
- The OPPO Reno 10 5G
- Type A to type-C charging & data cable
- 67W SuperVooc fast charging block
- Sim Ejector tool
- Protective Jelly Case
- User Manual
- Safety Guide
The device proudly features a 5000 mAh battery, representing a notable improvement from the 4800 mAh battery found in the Reno8 T. With my previous device, I used to find myself lugging around a charging cable to work just to ensure it lasted through the day. However, with this new device, I can confidently leave the house with a full charge, and it easily sustains me until I plug it in for an overnight charge.

When it comes to network connectivity, this device offers the convenience of 5G connectivity on either the primary or secondary SIM slot. I conducted a 5G speed test today and was astounded to achieve a blazing 236 Mbps on the Safaricom network. The lightning-fast speeds certainly enhance the overall user experience.
I am quite pleased with the first impressions, keep it here for a detailed review in a few weeks!
