TECNO’s premium sub-brand, PHANTOM, has entered the foldable device market with the launch of its flagship smartphone, the PHANTOM V Fold. The device comes three months after the release of the Phantom X2 Pro, which features the world’s first retractable portrait lens.
The PHANTOM V Fold is the latest addition to the Phantom X2 series and aims to revolutionize the premium smartphone experience through its exceptional technologies and outstanding performance.
The PHANTOM V Fold boasts dual flagship LTPO screens that have an adaptive 10-120Hz high refresh rate, delivering smooth motions and fluid transitions when folded and unfolded.
The 6.42-inch sub-screen has a micro-curved design and a 21:9 aspect ratio, while the 7.85-inch display on the main screen has an optimal 8:7 aspect ratio on an ultra-flat screen with a virtually invisible crease. The device also has a self-developed aerospace-grade drop-shaped hinge that creates an ultra-flat main inner screen surface that is virtually crease-free, and a crease that measures just 0.11mm.
The PHANTOM V Fold’s ultra-clear 5-lens photography system creates an unprecedented image-making experience with three rear lenses and two front lenses, enabling users to explore the world through new lenses.
The device’s night imaging capabilities are further enhanced by AI-powered Super Night Portrait, Super Night Mode, and Super Night 4K Video.
The phone is powered by MediaTek’s flagship Dimensity 9000+ processor, delivering an exceptional performance that allows efficient multitasking and seamless switching between screens.
The PHANTOM V Fold runs on TECNO’s HiOS13 Fold, a highly optimized and customized operating system based on Google’s Android 13, designed specifically for foldable devices.
The large-screen capabilities of HiOS13 Fold, such as split screens, picture-in-picture, parallel windows, and drag-and-drop across screens, make it a highly productive and enjoyable system. Over 2000 apps have been adapted to the HiOS13 Fold operating system.
