The Tecno Spark 10 series was launched in Kenya in mid-March, with the manufacturers promising users a “new era for selfie phones in its market by fusing outstanding performance with a chic and fashionable aesthetic.”
The Spark 10 series includes four models: the Spark 10 Pro, Spark 10, Spark 10 C, and Spark 10 5G, which supports 5G connectivity.
Out of the box
I recently had the opportunity to review the Tecno Spark 10. Out of the box, the device comes with the following items:

First impressions
The compact and sleek design of the device stood out to me immediately. People always ask me which phone it is every time I pull it out. The plastic back with a matte finish gives the phone a premium look, and the camera rack at the top left side of the back is a nice touch. Overall, it’s a work of art and an awesome piece of technology.
Out of the box, it comes with HiOS 12.6 based on Android 13. It features a 50 MP main camera at the back, which takes decent photos in good lighting conditions. However, I found the 8 MP selfie camera a bit underwhelming. The superior phones in the series pack a 32 MP selfie camera.
I appreciate that the front camera is centrally located at the top of the 6.6′ screen. This means you don’t have to tilt your head to awkward angles when taking photos or video calls.
The device packs a large 5000 mAh battery, which will take you through the day without needing a boost for average usage.
In my next review article, I will test the device for gaming, photography, and video-watching tasks and share more details on how it handled those tasks.
Overall, from my experience so far, if you’re looking for a budget device, the Tecno Spark 10 series will work for you. It offers decent performance at prices ranging from Kes 15,000 to Kes 21,000.
