Vikas Mehta, CEO – Ogilvy Africa, has been nominated on the jury for the inaugural Global WARC Awards for Effectiveness. He is one of three nominations from Africa and the only agency professional amongst them.
The jury comprises some of the world’s top marketing and communication leaders from the world’s biggest brands and agency professionals from twenty-two countries around the world.
In its inaugural version, the WARC Awards for Effectiveness is run in partnership with Cannes Lions. The platform is built and benchmarked on a consistent global language of the Effectiveness Code and judged using the Creative Effectiveness Ladder. The Ladder, created by Cannes Lions and WARC, is a way for the industry to identify the very best work that drives clear marketing outcomes.
The juries will choose winners for Grand Prix, Gold, Silver and Bronze awards in five categories. There are also special awards honouring particular areas of excellence. The winners will be announced at the Cannes Lions Festival 2021.

As a marcomms practitioner of over 20 years, Vikas has worked for over 50 countries in Asia-Pacific and African regions. During his years as a strategist, case studies authored by him have won over 100 regional and global effectiveness awards including the Effies (Asia-Pacific, Singapore and India), 4As Jay Chiat Awards, Asian Marketing Effectiveness Awards (Tangrams) and several others. He’s also served on juries for these award shows, and several others.
Ogilvy Africa, where Vikas leads a team of over 900 people, is the largest network agency on the continent catering to 39 countries, across Central, East and West Africa. The agency is headquartered in Nairobi – Kenya and manages a portfolio of over 100 brands for clients such as AB Inbev, Airtel, Africa CDC, Coca-Cola, Diageo, Distell, Equity Bank, Exxon Mobil, Kenya Airways, Mondelez, NCBA, Nestle, Philips, PWC, SAB Miller, Sanlam, Total, UNICEF, Unilever and WWF amongst others.
