NAIROBI, 3RD SEPTEMBER 2019: MultiChoice Kenya is looking for the ultimate television binge-watcher with a challenge that will see eight individuals housed in a glass box and required to watch different television content for 36 hours. With no access to their mobile phones or other electronics apart from the television, the participants will not be allowed to sleep for the duration of the challenge, but meals and controlled toilet breaks will be provided in the glass box that will be placed at the National Archives.

The binge challenge has 8 participants: Hillary Lanogwa, Karanja Ng’endo, Steve Biko, Tecla Joan, Shilla Gathoni, Juma Fred, Triza iva and Yvonne Ambete. The DStv Binge Challenge will kick off at 6pm on Tuesday 3rd September 2019 and end on 6am Thursday September 5, 2019.

“This evening we will have a team of 8 people walking into the glass box for the 36-hour binge watching challenge. This challenge will not only be entertaining but is also intended to demonstrate the fact that our large variety content is available to our subscribers all day, every day. You too can also get all the entertainment and 24-hour programming on DStv to keep you and your family fully entertained with over 100 channels,” said Simon Kariithi, MultiChoice Kenya GM Commercial.

The participants will watch an assortment of DStv channels throughout the 36 hours, which they will randomly select every few hours. This is an endurance challenge where the participants will not be allowed to sleep throughout the 36 hours and those who fall asleep are eliminated. The television binge watching challenge is part of MultiChoice Kenya’s ‘Everybody is Watching’ campaign as part of the recent announcement on the reduction of subscription fees on all DStv packages beginning September 1, 2019.
