Nation Media Group will send more workers home in January in a bid to reorganize their operations across the Group.This is according to a press release sent out today by the Group’s Head Of Corporate Affairs Clifford Machoka.
The NSE listed Media House says that the reorganization that started earlier in the year with the intention on leveraging on digital platforms is bearing fruits with the company’s digital division experiencing it’s fasted growth in 2016.
“We are satisfied that this process is beginning to deliver the intended benefits including the digital division recording the fastest growth in 2016,” read part of the statement.
The reorganization also saw the closure of the group’s radio stations in Kenya, Uganda & Rwanda leading to massive job cuts.
The statement however moved to reassure staff members that the reduction of it’s workforce will be done with due respect to employees and within provisions of the law.
“This exercise will be undertaken in January 2017 with due respect to our employees and within the provisions of the law,” continues the statement.
Nation Media Group was founded by His Highness the Aga Khan in 1959 and has been listed in the NSE since 1970s.
