MOVIE REVIEW: Equity is “banking” on women

2016 is definitely a good year for women. The glass ceilings are being “smashed” in the words of US Democratic Party candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton. She is almost definitely going to make history by becoming America’s first female President. This though will come at a time when the UK already has a female president and the UN expected to have a woman as it’s Secretary General as well. The good year for women does not just end in the political world.

After financial thrillers that took the world by storm through exposing cut-throat business tactics going on in Wall Street through movies such as Wolf of Wall Street, Equity shows that money is actually not a “dirty word” to women and that they can actually pull equal if not bigger strings to get it and enjoy everything that comes with it.

It’s been described as a ” shrewd tale about women on Wall Street and the glass ceiling, corruption and back-stabbings they face from their male co-workers and one another.”

The movie stars Anna Gunn who also starred in the TV series Breaking Bad. The main casts in the film are also women with men only playing secondary roles. Other casts include Alysia Reiner & Sarah Megan Thomas. The screenplay is by Ammy Fox.
