Kisumu art lovers treated to a three day painting exhibition

Art exhibitions are niche’ events which traditionally attracts very few enthusiasts. This was until Jo’nam artists (Jo’ nam is Luo for “people from the lake.”) teamed up with “Events by Myra” – an event company owned by Urban Radio’s Myra Anubi to host an art exhibition at the Sovereign Hotel in Milimani, Kisumu.

The exhibition titles “Social Cuffs” featured painting by three Kisumu artists – Coaster Ojwang’, Eric Ayoti and Nicholas “Nikomambo” Odhiambo. The painting explored various social issues around Kisumu.

Hundreds of art lovers thronged the basement conference room that hosted the event to appreciate and buy some of the pieces being exhibited. The event was so successful that it was extended to Maonday.
