After several failed attempts, Kisumu is finally going to have a Jazz festival. Jazz is a concept that is not so popular around here but you just need somebody to introduce you to this great phenomenon to appreciate it. That is why One Music teamed up with Extreme Entertainment and Kisumu Blogger Ominde Ka’Wambura (TWISTED LOGIC) to introduce to Kisumu what has for a long time been considered a rich man’s music by fusing Contemporary Jazz with Classical Afro-fussion and Modern Dance Music.

This will all be happening at a concert dubbed “I am Africa” which will be hosted in Kisumu three times a year starting with 20th April at Dunga Hill Camp. The organizers say that they have taken everything into account to ensure that they give Kisumu an event that will last in their memories for a long time.

The Concert will feature performances by Jazz maestro Nathan Okite, Fadili, Achieng’ Babu and Kisumu’s very own Soul Afrique alongside Dokta Deejay. This will be one great event happening at a beach front venue with more than 180 degrees view of Lake Victoria.

The event is slated for Easter Sunday and you can plan to attend even if you are not from Kisumu and there will be enough time to travel back as Monday is a holiday as well. We have made provisions for those wishing to join our road caravan from Nairobi and they can contact us using the bookings number provided on the poster.

Apart from the electrifying performances from the artists and bands you will also get to enjoy drinks from the fully stocked Dunga Hill Camp bar, enjoy the sunset view while relaxing on the beautifully manicured shoreline and there will be plenty of barbecue and bonfires at night.

The event will kick off on Sunday at 2.00 PM and all you need to get you in is Ksh. 700 and carry your blankets or shukas. There are plans to have a mini concert on Saturday night as well with performances from Soul Afrique for those coming with the road trip caravan and anyone else interested in attending on 19th from 9.00 PM.

Even the gods will love to attend this, miss it and you are going straight to hell!
Advance tickets can be bought from www.ticketsasa.com. Call 0735 424 367 for bookings.Click here to join the event on facebook.
